uhh. yah
so if there's anything you were ever curious about them, go ahead ask away. i only spent a few hours with them so maybe i don't have all the answers you're looking for though. oh and i should mention they said "this whole dinner is off the record" and i responded "i can't make that promise" hahhahahahhaa but i mean really now. i made that promise to Page Six's corynne-steindler and what did it do for me ?? jack shit. so there you go |

i told them the story of how i was at theWaverly a few weeks back, chatting with chef john-deLucie
and deLucie mentioned something about Eater-- i guess they had just written a blurb about theWaverly. probably a comment about the $55 mac-n-cheese or some shit so i said to deLucie: oh i think i'm having dinner with them soon... and deLucie replied: really ?? and i responded: yes... should i bring them here ? and deLucie retorted: NO !!! ahhha hahha hahhahah hahahaa |

umm. i think they asked if i know you. so i said yes. and then i totally talked you up-- i said you've been around... old school... worked for lots of companies... know yer shit... that kind of thing. oh and i think i did say you have worked for McNally but i thought that was pretty obvious (?) anyways. frankly i got the distinct impression ben-leventhal is close to jody-williams and so maybe he was curious about you since you did say quite a lot of things on the subject. and then ben-leventhal said he was "just disappointed the name was already taken" so i said maybe he could be "PaulaFroelich" or "FrankBruni" instead ! he asked how he could become a Member so i told him he has to "contribute" and he replied "i can do that" so let's see. wouldn't it be funny if ben-leventhal actually became a contributing Member ?? mygoodness think of the fun we could have. DickJohnson AND FrankBruni. hanging out with lil ole me. i'd be so proud |

NO. Ya think? eeheeheee well it's funny cuz they asked me "so what's with you and jody williams?" so i replied: i've never even met her but i have heard she's rather caustic. she has quite an acerbic manner from what i gather. and then i asked: what's with YOU and jody williams ?? no answer. just kinda glossed over |

Where did you go for dinner? What did they order? Balthazar. apparently it's Gawker/Curbed unofficial HQ or something (along with Morandi of course) they had the roasted chicken, of which they spoke quite highly. and oysters to start (i talked them out of west coasters). oh ! they asked me about restaurants in staten island. i told them the food is quite good actually (i was thinking of Cargo and daNoi and Aesop'sTable specifically). so maybe they'll start covering "...'that an island??" eehheeheee |

I love Da Noi! Best Italian ever. It kicks Morandi's ass.
