"hi FullComp,

yah so i get this e-mail the other day, and it's essentially a link to
your site, talking about how faaaboolous you are, and that you're the
"... Boston [version of] PX This..."

so i take a quick lookeeloo through your joint and
ummm
i think you're better ! and much less self-absorbed than i am,
apparently. hahha hahhaa

anyways,
my name is abbe-diaz, and a little whiles back i wrote this book
called PX This. well essentially it's my four year diary, mostly
describing my experiences working the podium for all these hotshot
joints in NYC
(here's my bio for the full lowdown---> http://pxthis.com/bio.html)

to make a long story hopefully shorter: i just started this Forum
thingie, for people who work in or around the
restaurant/nightlife/hospitality industry (employees,managers,
proprietors etc). it's only a few weeks old but we're already up to
about 200 members, and it's been featured on eater.com and gawker.com
a couple times already. [ahhahhaaa we're kickin ass, takin names, and
then selling them shits to the highest bidder.... just kidding].

yah so MY POINT IS: care to join ?? bring yer peeps ?? it should be
lots of fun... (and hopefully constructive too!)

check it out when you get a chance to stick yer head out the weeds
http://pxthis.invisionzone.com

hope to see you !! yay Boston !!
:P

cheers,
abbe"

;)

hi snax,

thank you so so so so much i don't even know what to say...

angel forwarded me your PM's-- i hope you don't mind, i'm sure she had all the best intentions in the world.

really. i don't even know what to say (ahhahaa. for a fucking change, yah ?)

oh i wanted to tell you i am deeply flattered by your "appropriating" my "tone." for your umm thingie that you do. i totally understand, anyone who has met me can tell you i don't really talk like this either. well, sometimes. but not usually. especially around people i hardly know.
but i just had to address this--
mostly because anyone who reads your awesome "motherfucking FAN letter" is immediately going to think i am some crazy freakazoid who is writing love letters to myself.
hahahahhahahhaaa

no but seriously though. i really really truly appreciate you doing this for me. i completely empathize with what you're going through-- 150 PERCENT.

i hope you can manage somehow to grasp one teensy tiny itty bit of an iota the MAGNITUDE of what you've done here, means to me.

if you ever need any kind of help whatsoever with your project thingie, please by all means feel free to ask. anytime.

THANK YOU again. so much.

-xoxo
abbe

p.s. believe it or not i have LOTS of friends here who do the same shit. THEY ALL SUCK.
hahhahahahaa :P

Hmmm...I'm not sure why everyone seems so sold on Full Comp being a girl, although I'm sure there's a girl or two involved in the whole three ring circus...I've gotta say that here in Boston our little industry is abuzz with the blog. So fun to read, old-school ideas about how to treat and be treated, and when you know every name they dish about it's even better. Huge fan...the stuff they're talking about needs to be said. Holla.

Oh maaaaan, you all are 100% right about everything you're saying.

One night in my restaurant we had Jack Welch - fucking bossman of the world - and he
says to the hostess "Who's in charge of this place?" and when she turned around and
pointed to my cha-cha heels wearing ass, you know what he said???

OF COURSE a woman runs this place!

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

there's nothing worse than a big ol sausage party at the podium to kill the vibe - I want to
go to dinner and have FUN not to a frikkin BOARD MEETING!

From the "Women in Management" thread.

You go, girl.

How many Boston peeps are even on this board?? I'd love to see Beantown represented here...widen some peoples narrowminded views about the biz...
It's so typical of this city...such a microcosm. I still don't know who you are, but dammit, I can guess what peeps are writing to you with regard to gossip. In fact, the whole "extra credit" about Harker and Gwen probably spawned enough email to keep me busy reading for years. Which brings me to my point 'bout Bostonians in this biz: they're not gonna say anything here if they feel we can find out who they are, because when it comes right down to it, we've probably all slept together (actually, I know we have) and we're gonna find our asses in a boatload of shizz if we get found out. I'd be happy to speak up, and I would love people like Adam Halberg and Patrick Connelly to get some face time on this blog. Fuck it...I want some FOH action to. What about Eli Feldman from No. 9, and Andrew Holden from Eastern Standard. Those kids are under 30 years old and rockin' it with the big boys. Shout out to the under 30 crew who rock it old school style.
Shot of Fernet, anyone?
