oh this reminds me !

a couple weeks back i was chatting with a pal she used to work for KobeClub

and she tells me it was the HOSTESSES that talked poor jeffrey-chodorow into writing that anti-bruni thingie in the NY Times. hahahahaa

she even said that jeffrey-choodooroo is actually "really really nice" he is a just big teddy bear with a fabulous wife and an "adorable family" (you can learn a lot about a man by the way his kids behave. no joke) and she felt awful he was being put through the wringer for what he did, cuz apparently they totally egged him on like do it do it yah do it !! gooooooo jeffrey !!

so there you go.

blame it on the fucking ditzy hostesses it's alllll their fault. as usual. ha haaa

Ah, yes, the siren call of the lovely, sweet-smelling hostesses. The pride and bane of many a restaurateur....

They can build an empire, or they can destroy one.

LOL.

Jeff needs to concentrate on his restaurants...............let his PR firm handle damage control

On a personal level, he is a very nice person. He is an empire-builder and is extremely creative and passionate about food. It may not come off as well in his restaurants but conceptually he is bubbling with ideas all day long. He has more creativity in a day than most have in a week or two.

I have never worked for his company but we do business together for a smaller venue. Although he is not directly involved in this venue, we chat every so often.

Chodorow Edging Closer to Insanity, Places 'Dear Frank' Ad
Wednesday, August 15, 2007
Jeffrey Chodorow's mad march to the brink of insanity continues today. In response to Frank Bruni's one star review of Wild Salmon, the Chodorow has posted another ad in the Times dining section, this one in reference to Bruni's comments about a penguin gone missing atop Wild Salmon's baked Alaska dessert. To run these things is to encourage the crazy train at this point, but in any event:

"Dear Frank, The penguin has returned to the South Pole where it belongs. I'm contributing the money I would have spent on a larger ad to the fight against global warming. Really glad you loved the wild salmon at Wild Salmon. It is like no other salmon I've ever tasted. Regards, Jeff. P.s. Loved "your" cameo in Ratatouille."

A couple of questions about this. 1) Why has the Chodorow gone with a generic letterhead here instead of the official-looking paper stock (right) he used last time? 2) Should we worry about a restaurateur who gets excited about a critic liking one dish at his restaurant? 3) This handwriting looks a bit friendly to be the Chodorow's. We're sending it out for analysis.
