Mario Batali, Emeril, Rachael Ray and Boulud to open restaurants in FoxwoodsIn a recent interview with Mario Batali, the famous New York chef detailed his plans to participate in a food and wine piazza in Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut. The central focus of this new venture would be a giant centrally located wine store, and within the walls of that wine store would be elegant restaurants by Emeril, Chef Batali, Rachael Ray, and Daniel Boulud.
"The restaurants will all have their little terraces leading into this piazza surrounded by an interactive wine bar. So you can sit in the Daniel restaurant for instance and maybe get a couple of Spanish bottles of wine, but still enjoy the Daniel dining experience."
This sort of shared component is a relatively new concept for all the chefs involved, and if Ms. Ray is involved it would be her first restaurant.
"This won't be until Spring 2009," added Batali.
