oh fuck it
yah so uh, how's EU dong these days, anybody know ? anybody ? anybody ??
yah that's what i thought.
WHO'S THE PUSSY NOW, BITCHES
LOL.
Oh sure, you're
real tough when it comes to esoteric references. So, let me make up for my rude, sexist joke by explaining this clearly for all the dimwits visiting from Beater.
Before Centro Vinoteca ever existed, Anne Burrell was employed at EU. EU never became popular, and obviously Burrell's presence didn't save it from 'the kiss of death'. Also, during the time Burrell was employed there, the Food Network certainly never came calling with TV show offers.
The lovely Abbe Diaz's point being - Muniak was just as key to Burrell's success as Burrell was to Centro's. Without Muniak having bought and built Centro with a well-known architect, and his own highly respectable press-worthy expertise at Mangia/Gusto, plus the aggressive PR effort he funded, Burrell would probably have come and gone from 'CV' much in the same way as her stint at EU.
As history has proven with Gusto, dicking over a 'good boss' like Muniak for the sole purpose of glorifying one's own ego, is probably not the smartest move a person can make.
Therefore,
commenter 'GTO' with the 'fairly direct knowledge of what happened' - you can take your 'kiss of death' and
suck it.
The End.
