Ok so I guess Andre saved his ass on this one. That place is hemorrhaging $$$$$ every day, and AB has a small percent. Wouldn't be surprised if he got booted, but it looks like he hit it out of the park on this one. Question is will the press bring in the $$$$ without letting it get cheesy like everything in MPD.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure, but did hear that he has a very small percentage - much, much smaller than I would have even guessed. I mean, obviously, if the hotel were raking it in, then even this percentage would be awesome in that it would still be making him alot of money for doing very little more than what he already does with his eyes closed. But, in terms of having a controlling percentage when times are rough, it's nowhere even close. So, it wouldn't be all that surprising that if the hotel were really losing money that badly, they would turn to a different formula. But, at this point, I don't think any hotels of that size are really making that much money.

It's going to be off the hook. Thye have lined up a good crew that has alot of experience and knows their shit, and I heard that the room is amazing. It's not going to be the same shit filled with kids like Bea or Eldridge. Haven't been to Ave but I heard it's ok sometimes. But Standard is def going to be hot, at least def in the beginning. Prob alot like the lobby of Mercer which was very hot for years because they kept it so tight..

Yeah but Mercer lobby was open all hours of the day and night, and that's what made it so hot. They were able to keep it tight by saying it's for guests of the hotel only, which obviously wasn't true. Don't know what the deal is going to be for Boom Boom, but if they open it just for club hours, that's what's going to kill it. They might get Puffy, Russel Simmons and Lohan, but the real A-list won't go for it. Back in the day at Mercer, it was nothing to see Cameron Diaz hanging out the same night as Russell Crowe and James Cameron, and all the top supermodels. Calvin Klein lived there for fuck's sake. If Boom Boom is going to open as a club instead of a hotel bar/lounge, it will never be the same.

Well not sure but I thought the hotel was going to run the lounge on it's own and that they are not bringing in promoters.

yea but a room at mercer was like 5 or 600 bucks, but a room at standard can be under $200. so that's not gonna work....

They caved way too fast. They could have opened it at 4pm but still kept it exclusive for a little while. Now that everyone will be allowed in, it's going to ruin the cache. And with the 10pm opening, it's going to end up like just another club/lounge. Wrong, wrong move Andre. Must be getting desperate.
